The Wonder That Is You (Book Review & Giveaway)

Do you remember the day you became a parent for the first time?

I remember that day very well. Lots of emotions and joy. But one thing that sticks out to me is a conversation my husband and I had. We talked about what a miracle bringing a child into the world is. It’s a beautiful miracle of God. And we said we wondered how anyone could go through bringing a child into this world and not believe in God. How can one overlook the miracle of this and not see that this child is the creation of God?

Glenys Nellist’s newest book describes this miracle beautifully…one that is based off the true story of the birth of her first son (You can read that story here). In The Wonder That Is You, Glenys speaks of the joy she felt that day and relates that to how God and His creation celebrate the birth of a child. I love this imagery:

“I thought I heard the trees clap hands

And as their leaves unfurled,

They whispered softly in the breeze,

Welcome to our world.

This imagery reminds me of Isaiah 55:12 (NIV):

“You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.”

Creation celebrates the birth of a new child…a creation of God. Mountains and hills break out into singing and the trees of the field clap their hands because of the joy of this moment. This act is a way of God’s creation acknowledging and honoring that our God is Almighty!

If you’re looking for a different baby shower gift or a gift for new parents in your church…this is a good one. This book would also be a great gift that a parent can to give to their child on the day they were born. You can find this book on Amazon or at one of these Indie bookstores.

Children are a gift from God. Happy is the Man who’s fever is filled. Now that bag (fever, I believe that is how it is spelled) holds arrows, but in this relationship it means children. Happy is the Man who has children. God knows that it is a blessing to leave behind a legacy and the best way to do that is in our children. I’d love to be considered entered in your giveaway. Thank You.
